Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras sent a strong message this week noting that the government is not going to tolerate activities similar to last Sunday's incendiary attack against the Hellenic Gold worksite in the town of Skouries, in the northern peninsula of Halkidiki. (He was referring to the incident where 40 anarchists stormed the facility, and set fire to machinery, as well as caused extensive damages).

In statements to the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Samaras said that these kind of acts will not and "cannot be tolerated."

"Greece is a modern European country, and we will, at all costs, protect foreign investment."
